Thoughts for Young Men, J.C. Ryle, 1.2
In this second installment of Ryle’s Thoughts for Young Men, he addresses the heavy topic of death and judgement. In 1.2, Ryle explains, “death and judgment are before young men, even as others, and they nearly all seem to forget it.”
I believe all humanity falls into one of two categories with respect to this issue. Either, we do not think about death at all or we are consumed and controlled by the fear of death. For me, from the time I was very young I was overwhelmed by the fear of death. What set me free from this fear? The Gospel of Jesus Christ!
